{book review} Kaleidoscope by Patsy Clairmont

Women of Faith speaker Patsy Clairmont takes us on a humour infused jaunt through Proverbs in her latest book entitled Kaleidoscope. Using her larger than life wit, Patsy helps everyday women deal with the 'in your face truths' of Proverbs through thirty-three easy to read chapters. These relatively short chapters can be squeezed into any woman's on the go schedule, with time left over for the self-exploring questions provided at the end of each one. Patsy tackles such issues as anger, boasting, grief, and wisdom with a ray of sunshine, revealing areas that need work without passing judgement.
I was hooked from the first chapter, and looked forward to any spare moments I could steal away in order to tap into Patsy's well earned knowledge. The easy going style of writing made for relaxed self study while still communicating the important truths to be found throughout Proverbs. I enjoyed Patsy's idea of joining "another lamb in search of good pasture"(pg 7), this simple line made the rest of her writing like a conversation; intimate and well rounded. Patsy's accounts of her own life served well to reassure me that I wasn't the only one struggling with following what seemed like the simple instructions put forward in Proverbs.
Patsy Clairmont's book Kaleidoscope would be a perfect gift for any of the women in your life, whether young or slightly more experienced. The lessons and laughter found between this book's pages will bring guidance and smiles to the woman looking to further her walk with the Lord.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of Patsy Clairmont's book Kaleidoscope from Thomas Nelson Publishers in order to write this review. The opinion in this post is solely mine and was not influenced by any source.
