Are you sending the kids out with Dad this Halloween so you can have an evening to yourself, maybe curl up with a book? Or do you have an older child that thinks they are 'too old' for Halloween? Then Roto-Rooter Press has you covered with their sometimes funny, sometimes jaw-dropping, and sometimes ghoulish, 'Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat'.
'Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat' features a collection of short stories that include the good, the bad, and the ugly of plumbing related DIY, as well as the weird and sometimes record breaking finds made by Roto-Rooter plumbers on the job. There are also some great tips for preventing numerous plumbing mishaps. I had quite a fun time reading all 100 pages of this entertaining little book. I love to leave it on the coffee table for guests to flip through, and you always know when someone is reading it due to the tell tale snorts of laughter! Older children will definitely enjoy reading 'Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat'; however, squeamish or sensitive readers might want to give a few of the short stories a miss. The more 'graphic' tales are clearly marked so everyone can enjoy the read. Both my sister and I got quite a kick out of 'Chilling Tales from the Porcelain Seat' and recommend it to anyone looking for an eerie Halloween read! For those of you who are familiar with the T.V series Ghost Hunters, Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson also provide insightful commentary throughout the book.

I think mine is that I am going to have to replace not only the plumbing, but the sewer line out to the road. I don't have an extra 15K laying around, and frankly, this house isn't worth the investment.

My biggest plumbing fear has always been a snake coming up from the toilet while I'm sitting there.

My biggest plumbing misshap would be my daughter to be honest - she is five and in this place in life where she feels that a roll of toilet paper is to be expected if one has had a poo (the complete roll I mean) that would clog the best of toilets, well we have a low flow toilet, those lovely good for the enviroment ones that barely flush six squares down - she must clog our toilet up three times a week - I am getting a bit tired of it now.

My biggest fear about plumbing is that my toilet will somehow back up and spray dirty water in my face. Yuck!

My greatest plumbing mishap was in a rental house years ago. The house was older and kind of run down. We were trying to use the shut off valve going to the toilet to replace parts in the tank that were worn out. In the process of trying to get the water shut off the pipe snapped- below the shut off of course! We had no idea where the shut off for the whole house was and in a panic I tried to think of what I could use to plug the pipe. I decided a large potato, and guess what? It worked! At least long enough to find the main shut off!
My favorite Halloween candy is sweet tarts!

my worse disaster was when my toilet overflowed after my son had a nasty stomach virus and stuffed too much toilet paper in the toilet... the results were worthy of a Hazmat team for cleanup, but instead I got the duties...
