Recently I was given the opportunity to review a pair of Halloween Contact Lenses from ClearlyContacts.ca. Jenny of ClearlyContacts very kindly sent me a pair of their most popular Halloween lenses to try out. Due to the fact that I had not worn contact lenses before I did have a little bit of difficulty coming up with the proper technique for putting these larger lenses on my eyes. But more on that later. The Banshee printed contacts are super fun to wear and have been a real hit at my house! It has also been quite fun to meet the mailman at our door with them in, the reactions are priceless! I cannot wait to wear them out and about on Halloween.

The Special Effect/Halloween Contact Lenses from ClearlyContacts.ca are made from FDA approved theatrical grade lenses. The colored portions have also been sandwiched in the lens so no color actually comes into contact with the eye, making these contacts quite comfortable to wear. Once I had the contacts in my eyes I was pleasantly surprised at the range of vision I retained, as that was something I had been worried about beforehand. If I try and look around too much then the contacts will roll slightly to one side or the other, but for the most part they stay put. The only part I struggled with was putting the Banshee Contacts in for the first time, as they are larger than regular contacts and although I had never worn contacts I had seen it done, as well as explained to me on several occasions. So instead of balancing one lens on my finger I pinched it slightly between my forefinger and thumb of one hand while making my eye as wide as possible with the other. Then tilt your head back and place the lens on your eye. Don't worry once you've done it, you can do it again, and it really is not as complex (or awkward) as I've made it sound!

ClearlyContacts.ca has been a wonderful company to work with, their customer service was excellent (thank you for all your help Jenny!), and the shipping was nice and speedy too! And their Halloween Contacts get two thumbs up from me, these lenses are a fantastic way to add that wow factor to your costume, they're also a great way to freak out your kids once in a while!
