CLOSED Ammonia Free Hair Color {review + giveaway} from Bigen

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED
love to dye my hair; however, I don't love the harsh and awful smelling box hair colors you find at the local drugstore. And with the fall season slowly making its way across the northern hemisphere I was ready for a change of color, but the thought of sitting there with my head on fire and the smell of ammonia wafting about the bathroom I decided to put off doing my hair, for a week or two anyways. Which turned out to be perfect timing when I received an email from Whitney asking if I would like to try Bigen's ammonia free hair color. Within two days of settling the details of the review I was accepting a package from the mailman which contained two boxes of Bigen's ammonia free permanent powder in Rich Medium Brown and Deep Burgundy.

I decided to try out the Rich Medium Brown first, and I could not be happier with the results! I went from a very light blonde to a rich and beautifully highlighted brunette. Since first using Bigen Rich Medium Brown about a month ago, the color has settled into a very natural shade of brown, even picking up on my high-lights and low-lights. Bigen's ammonia free permanent hair color comes in powder form, which you simply mix with a small amount of water as per the directions and apply to your hair like you would any other box color. There was no heat or stingy pain while I was waiting for the color to set, and if anything the coloring had a light, pleasant scent.

Here's a little bit more about how Bigen's hair color works :

'Bigen permanent hair color is ammonia free and requires no hydrogen peroxide. The unique powder formula is activated by water to naturally open the hair’s cuticle to deposit rich, natural color into even the most stubborn gray hair. This deposit only color is the gentle choice and has been proven for over thirty years.'

And here is a before and after :

as you can see I was quite blonde over the summer

voila, brunette!
(please excuse the nose shadow!!!)

Bigen is now my boxed hair color of choice. And I recommend their hair color to anyone looking to switch to a darker color or anyone who is looking to accentuate their naturally dark hair. Bigen's ammonia free color is perfect if you or someone in your family has a sensitivity to harsh smells like my sister, who was able to walk into the washroom right after I was done and didn't even know I had colored my hair at all! Maybe you have a teen in your home who is itching to change up their hair color, why not get them to check out the permanent and semi-permanent colors that Bigen has to offer. Bigen's hair color will be much more gentle on their hair than most other brand name colors. All in all I was extremely pleased with Bigen's permanent powder hair color and I look forward to using the Deep Burgundy in the new year!

I would also like to try the Intensive Red Semi Permanent if we can choose that instead of Permanent!

I actually have the Deep Burgundy in my hair now, and it is almost purple which is what I wanted so I am happy with it!
