Sunglasses {review + giveaway} from Sunglass Warehouse

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

Summer is (finally!) in full swing here and the sun is beating down like there is no tomorrow. Now this would be the ideal time to head to the beach and have some fun, but not without investing in a good pair of sunglasses first!

Perhaps even a pair of gorgeous gold aviator sunglasses ...

SW Aviator Style #68044
$14.95

Earlier this week I received a package that made my squinting eyes water with relief. A pair of beautiful Aqua Fashion Style sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse !!!

These sunglasses have got to be the best I've ever had. They are sturdy, well made, and protect my sensitive little eye balls by blocking both UVA as well as UVB rays. I love how the lenses aren't too dark so I don't have to constantly take them off when I step into the shade which tends to happen with most other glasses I've tried for the same price. The color is very retro, very punchy, and the silver detailing on the side makes them look like a million bucks! The quality of the sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse it definitely top notch and their customer service gets two thumbs up as well. One of my favorite features on the website has to be their guides for choosing frames to suit your face shape and your skin tone, very helpful stuff!
Sunglass Warehouse has a pair of sunglasses for everyone! The styles range from Driving Sunglasses to Kids Sunglasses and even Goggles. They also have every trend imaginable covered, from Rock Star Sunglasses to Sports Sunglasses as well as Aviator Sunglasses  and many more. The color selection is fabulous to say the least, with many styles coming in several different colors, you are sure to find the perfect pair for you.

I will definitely be recommending the Sunglass Warehouse to anyone looking for a new pair (or two) of affordable sunglasses and will be purchasing all future pairs from them myself.

Peshtemal {review + giveaway} from The Peshtemal Shop

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

Today I would love to share with you a fantastic Etsy shop based out of Mugla, Turkey that specializes in a traditional Turkish bath cloth called the Peshtemal. I received my very own and very beautiful Turquoise/White Peshtemal to try earlier this month. Besides coming in virtually every color, Peshtemals can be used for just about anything ... they're great as beach towels, swim suit cover ups, picnic blankets, bath towels, and can even provide a soft impromptu change pad for baby.

$45.00

This summer has provided several occasions to use my Peshtemal and I could not be happier with the way it has performed as a beach towel/cover-up. The Peshtemal is super light which is great for long strolls on the beach or shoreside camping trips, these towels also absorb just as quickly as conventional terry towels (wash first to achieve this), and they dry very quickly which is a must for camping. Everyone wants to know where I got my Peshtemal and mine seems to be 'borrowed' whenever I'm not looking! I absolutely love my Peshtemal and have taken it with me on just about every outing so far this summer and used it as a beach towel after swimming, a picnic blanket at the park, even a cover-up at a beach concert. The Peshtemal comes in pretty well every color imaginable and look amazing in person, they're much too pretty to stick in a linen closet so when not in use I drape mine over an armchair in the living room.

A Peshtemal is a fantastically affordable gift idea for any occasion including birthdays, housewarmings, or as a hostess gift. I highly recommend The Peshtemal Shop to anyone looking to revamp their linen collection or looking for linens to complete their at home spa experience.

The Pestemal Shop would love to send one lucky winner their choice of Peshtemal!

{Mother's Day} Mondetta Performance Gear {review + giveaway}

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

Do you know a mom who is looking to get back in shape after her first child, or third child? Or maybe you're like me and shudder when you think of the fast approaching bathing suit season! Well this year's round of belly toning and butt lifting just got a little bit easier thanks to the amazing array of active wear from Mondetta Performance Gear (MPG). Earlier this month I received a hearty package from MPG containing Sway Pants in Black, Capture Bermuda Shorts in Black, and a Minx Jacket in Black. Exercising has never been as fashionable or as comfortable, MPG's line of women's active and lifestyle clothing has definitely brought back some of the 'feel good' to my workout routine that was missing with other brands. MPG's clothing is comfortably fitted, breathable, and doesn't impede your motion. The quality of the clothing is also top-notch, I have no fear of a busted seam with the Sway Pants or the Capture Bermuda Shorts, and the light weight yet durable Minx Jacket will be my go to for jogging for several seasons to come, if I can keep it away from my sister!

Fist up was the Minx Jacket, which I have been wearing almost daily for quick errands and walks since I received it. The jacket is warm when you're standing still but breathes when your moving which is a must for me as I tend to warm-up quite quickly. When jogging, the high collar and thumb-hole sleeves adds an extra level of comfort, keeping our morning drizzle and wind at bay which makes my morning routine more enjoyable on grey days.

Next were the Sway Pants which have got to be some of the comfiest pants I've ever worn. They're a casual fit for yoga, dance, and 'me time', but they look smart enough when paired with some of my graphic tees for popping over to a friend's house. An easy to follow size chart helped me to quickly find my perfect size the first time, one of my pet peeves is having to send clothes back that don't fit! These Sway Pants are fun to wear and provide full range of motion for Yoga routines, they also keep you looking good while you sweat it out!

And last but not least are the Capture Bermuda Shorts. These shorts are great for those looking for a bit more coverage or who want a pair of shorts that can fit either a high or low impact workout. While the weather is still a bit chilly the Capture Bermuda Shorts are now part of my jogging ensemble along with the Minx Jacket. Like the Sway Pants, the Capture Bermuda Shorts move with you and provide a very comfortable aspect to any workout. The length is perfect and the drawstring waist makes sure these shorts stay put during those downward dogs!

All in all I am very impressed with Mondetta's line of Performance Gear. And I highly recommend the performance gear from MPG to anyone who makes fitness a part of their daily routine or busy moms (because that's a routine all in itself!) who are looking for comfort and style. MPG's clothing is definitely a cut above the rest and well worth the price. (As of today their Women's Essentials are 25% off and you can also checkout their Clearance Section for more fantastic deals.)

The story behind Mondetta's founders is just as amazing as their clothing, and manifests itself as the Mondetta Charity Foundation. The Mondetta Charity Foundation (MCF) is a completely separate entity from the Mondetta Clothing Company; however it is very much a part of Raj Bahl's (VP Sales), Ash Modha's (CEO), Prashant Modha's (VP Finance), and Kish Modha's (VP Administration) vision to give back by dedicating a portion of the proceeds from the garments sold through their Mondetta Clothing Company.

Here's a little bit more about the Mondetta Charity Foundation :

From our beginning, we have dedicated a portion of the proceeds from every garment sold to various arts and athletic organizations in North America. Performing artists and athletes continually prove the human body is capable of incredible feats when the heart is wholly behind it, although their profession is not often recognized for the dedication it requires. By lessening the high costs associated with the physical arts, MPG helps those with drive receive the resources they need to continue.

The Mondetta Charity Foundation (MCF), a completely separate entity from the Mondetta Clothing Company, has been established to provide assistance to ease some of the suffering in Africa due to devastating problems such as AIDS and the ravages of povertyNearly forty years ago, two families left East Africa as both immigrants and refugees to eventually find their way to Winnipeg, Manitoba where they began to rebuild their lives and establish new roots.

In 1970, Raj Bahl, VP Sales, immigrated to Canada from Nairobi, Kenya, at the young age of three, along with his parents and siblings. Though recollections of his experiences in Kenya are blurred and clouded by the passage of time, his memories are kept alive through the stories told to him by his parents and various family friends who shared a similar experience.

In 1972, under the dictatorial rule of President Idi Amin, Ugandan citizens of Asian descent were forcibly expelled from the country, given 90 days notice to leave the only home they had ever known. The Modha family, including Ash, President and CEO, Prashant, VP Finance, and Kish, VP Administration, was one of thousands of families to leave the part of Africa known as the “Cradle of the Nile” and forge new roots in foreign lands.

The Mondetta Charity Foundation was created on the mandate that all operating and administrative costs would be born by the parent company thereby allowing all donations to be utilized in a strictly charitable capacity.

CLOSED {Mother's Day} Rejuvenating Masque {review + giveaway} from Systeme 41

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

I recently received a much anticipated sample of Systeme 41's all natural Rejuvenating Masque, a two-in-one gentle scrub and soothing masque. My skin has always frustrated me when it came to finding a cleanser that was gentle enough for my sensitive skin but had enough scrubbing power to lift the impurities from my pores. And the Rejuvenating Masque from Systeme 41 does just that. This masque can be used as a quick cleanser on a Friday, or as a 20 minute refreshing masque on a Monday night. The Rejuvenating Masque is Paraben Free, Gluten Free, and Hypoallergenic so it can be used on virtually all skin types.

$129.95

My face is smooth and hydrated, and has been reaction free since I started using the Systeme 41 Rejuvenating Masque several weeks ago, which is a very welcome first for me! The masque does a thorough job of removing pesky dead skin and provides a refreshed feeling that is fantastic for a mid-week pick me up. I would definitely recommend Systeme 41's Rejuvenating Masque to anyone who's looking for a gentle exfoliation and calming cleanser in one.

Here's a little more about the Rejuvenating Masque from Systeme 41 :
  •  Amazon White Clay decongests pores and lifts impurities.
  •  Natural Pomegranate and Papain Enzymes gently remove superficial dead skin cells.
  •  Olive Squalane helps your skin hold moisture and suppleness.

CLOSED {Mother's Day} Flameless Candle {review + giveaway} from Enjoy Lighting

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

 Earlier this year I received a fantastic package from Enjoy Lighting that included a set of 3 Ivory Smooth Vanilla Scented Flameless Wax Candles. These child and pet friendly candles run on 4 AA batteries each, and boast 180+ hours of battery life. That battery life sure came in handy during the spring storms that finally rolled through here at the end of March and beginning of April. With power outages every few days it was great to have a candle that could be used to light bathrooms, tables, and bedsides without having to constantly be aware of who or what was getting too close to the flame. The Ivory Smooth Flameless Wax Candles are a great neutral choice that would suit most interiors and one that suits our place perfectly. Real wax, vanilla scent, and realistic flickering LED lights make these flameless candles practically indistinguishable from real wax candles when lit.

Ivory Smooth Vanilla Pillars

Enjoy Lighting's Flameless Wax Candles are also perfect for table centerpieces, whether it's a dinner for two or a family feast, these Flameless Candles won't singe stray sleeves, hair, or curious fingers ! My sister and I will be using our set of Flameless Candles to add some ambiance to our Mother's Day dinner this Sunday; because we have a relatively small kitchen table we can safely pass dishes over the candles, and won't have to worry about any dripping wax. I have really fallen head over heals for Enjoy Lighting's Flameless Candles, they are the most true-to-life flameless candles I've used and their soft vanilla scent tops it all off quite nicely. I highly recommend the flameless candles from Enjoy Lighting for families with young children, households with pets, as well as those who may have elderly family members staying with them. We will most definitely be using our flameless candles from Enjoy Lighting for several years to come thanks to their 75% annual cost savings compared to regular candles as well as the 100,000 hour life of their LED bulbs.

Monkey T-shirt {review} from TShirtPrinting.net

{review}
Sponsored by :

Earlier this month I received a super fun t-shirt from TShirtPrinting.net with their signature monkey logo silk screened on the front. The t-shirt itself is a high quality cotton (also available in organic cotton) that is soft to the touch and the fit is very comfortable, not too fitted but not too loose, making these t-shirts great for moving around in. Each t-shirt, hoodie, sweatshirt, or long sleeved shirt is carefully silk screened with your custom design or logo and can be ordered in batches of 12 to 100,00! I have already fallen head over heels for my new monkey t-shirt, the quality is fantastic and I am sure the screened design will be just as cute and cheerful several months from now. I highly recommend TShirtPrinting.net to anyone who is in charge of ordering the uniforms for summer camps or corporate promotional items, the quality is exceptional and the shipping was very quick, (just over a week via England to Canada).

Ergonomic Pen - UGLee Pen {review + giveaway}

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

As handy as computers are for typing up everything from quick notes to emails to 7-page essays, I still love the old fashioned connection that comes from putting pen to paper. What I don't love are the sore fingers and hand cramps that come from trying to keep my grip on those skinny name brand pens halfway through an essay or a letter home. So you can imagine my excitement when an opportunity arose to review the UGLee Pen developed by Dr. James Lee. This ergonomic pen is designed to alleviate the pain and discomfort felt by those who complete many writing tasks such as; students, teachers, doctors, nurses, accountants, office workers, and secretaries to name a few. Dr. Lee also recommends his UGLee Pen for those with MS, CTS, and Arthritis.

I am very impressed with how comfortable and natural the UGLee Pen is. Weighing in under half an ounce the aptly coined comfort pen is super easy to use and simply glides along the paper thanks to its smooth ink system. The UGLee Pen's full grip is engineered to follow the contours of the human hand making for a very enjoyable writing experience. The grip material itself is intended to grip your fingers, minimizing the strain experienced by those who write daily. My hands are much more relaxed after using my UGLee Pen for any length of time and this pen will definitely see a lot of use as I prepare to complete my Bachelor of General Studies! I really have fallen in love with the comfort and precision engineering of the UGLee Pen and recommend these pens to anyone, whether writing is part of your profession or you are just looking for a pen to keep in your purse. This grip pen is a one of a kind in today's market and has definitely restored the enjoyment factor of writing for this old-school gal. Dr. Lee's UGLee Pen has been so successful that mothers' have asked Lee to develop a pencil version for kids learning to write, and I can't argue with mom on this one! As if an amazingly comfortable design wasn't enough, the UGLee Pens are also refillable, so you can make use of the same pen for several years to come.

The UGLee Pen comes in a variety of colors and can be purchased online here.
You can also check out the UGLee Pen Blog here.

Gulliver's Travels DVD {review}

"In a contemporary re-imagining of the classic tale, Jack Black stars as Gulliver a big-talking mailroom clerk who, after he's mistakenly assigned a travel piece on the Bermuda Triangle, suddenly finds himself a giant among men when he washes ashore on the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of very tiny people. At first enslaved by the diminutive and industrious Lilliputians, and later declared their hero, Gulliver comes to learn that it's how big you are on the inside that counts."

My rating is : 2 out of 5 stars.

Recently I received a special screening copy of the latest Gulliver's Travels adaptation starring Jack Black, Jason Segel, and Emily Blunt. And last night I sat down to watch it with my teen-aged sister. Now I am no prude, but I was slightly shocked to see that this title only received a G rating in B.C, when throughout the rest of Canada it was more appropriately rated PG. There were one or two chuckle worthy moments that my sister and I enjoyed; however, I did walk away feeling a little disappointed overall. The storyline relied heavily on crude humor and the editing itself seemed slightly sloppy and forced. Although the moral of the original story is present, it is greatly overshadowed by in your face toilet humor throughout the movie. I found myself much more interested in Jason Segel's character Horatio, and his struggle to find an identity than I was in the modern day take on Gulliver's character. Chris O'Dowd's character General Edwards helped to keep the movie going with his 'snidely' good guy/bad guy routine. There were several cute interactions between characters, but most scenes simply consisted of a type-cast Jack Black performing the cheap slapstick we have come to expect from his comedies. If you're looking for a quick laugh on a Friday night, and don't mind some not-so-subtle humor then you may just get a kick out of this latest Gulliver's Travels, but if you'd rather not hear your children calling each other 'lameasses' across the grocery store then I suggest you give this version a miss.

Gulliver's Travels is available on DVD and Blu-Ray April 12, 2011

I received a complimentary copy of Gulliver's Travels; however, all of the opinions expressed in this review are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

Canine Calm {review} from Earth Heart Inc.

{review + giveaway}
Sponsored by :

Earth Heart Inc.

Are you planning on traveling during the new year, maybe you have a move planned, or you live in an area known for its spring wind/thunderstorms (like I do!), and your worried how your pooch will react? Then I strongly recommend trying out Earth Heart's line of Canine Mists, which include Canine Calm, Guard Well, and Travel Calm. These plant based mists are designed to be used anytime your pooch may be too restless during a journey or is experiencing some nerves in a new surrounding, the aromatherapy canine mists work to calm and relieve your dogs sense of anxiety naturally.

Canine Calm helps calm dogs during thunderstorms, fireworks, bath time, competitions, adoptions, holiday travel, clinic or kennel visits.

Travel Calm helps quiet upset tummies and restlessness for all kinds of travelers.

Guard Well helps nurture a natural state of health, and relieve itching and swelling from pollens and other environmental irritants.

Last month I received a 2 oz. bottle of Canine Calm to review, but as of yet we haven't had cause to use it (which is extremely unusual for us)! Only last weekend we had our first 'baby storm' that still managed to knock out power along with several smaller trees, which can only be a sign of things to come over the next few months, so I know we will be using our Canine Calm on Tintin shortly. However; when I first received our bottle of Canine Calm I just had to give it a good sniff, and let me tell you, I'd sure settle down nicely if someone rubbed this scrumptious lavender mist behind my ears! Canine Calm is a fantastically easy and non-invasive way of treating your four-legged family member to some calming aroma-therapy, a canine 'chill-pill' if you would. I love that the ingredients are plant based, which makes them safe to use around children and can be used on puppies as well, (starting at 8 weeks for medium to large breeds and 10 weeks for smaller breeds), although they do not recommend the mists for birds or cats. Canine Calm from Earth Heart would make a thoughtful housewarming gift to anyone who will be moving with their pooch, or as a bottle of bliss for your own high-strung pooch. We are definitely less anxious ourselves going into the west coast's stormy season knowing that relief from 'doggy-anxiety' is only a few 'spritzes' away!

Where to buy:
You can purchase all three of the above Canine Mists online at Earth Heart Inc. for $11.98/2oz. Bottle.

I received a bottle of Canine Calm from Earth Heart Inc. free of charge to facilitate my review; however, all opinions expressed in this post are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
