This morning we're wrapping up our Spring Fling with one last giveaway with the help of Kat from Cardinalhouse. Kat makes some amazing statement necklaces out of beads and fabric flowers (made from repurposed fabrics!). Here's a little bit about how Cardinalhouse got started from Kat's bio, "Cardinal House is inspired by my grandmother. She was like the craft mafia boss of the family! I grew up touring the Southeast working arts & craft shows/ visiting the wholesale showrooms, etc with her, my mom & aunt. She ran her own business for decades down in Pensacola, FL (Lienhart Dollhouse). I spent a lot of time with her in her garden/ greenhouse when I was a little girl. I am so excited to introduce you all to the talented Lisa King of Sew Lucky Girl this morning. Here's a bit about Ms King from her bio, "Lisa King graduated from Georgia State University, and earned her BFA in printmaking and painting. Her love of screen printing is reflected in her pillows, along with her love of the decorative arts in her fanciful designs, along with a bit of whimsy and humor. She has exhibited her fine art Nationally and Internationally, and her work resides in the personal collections of musicians Michael Stipe of R.E.M., Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, Denny Walley of the Magic Band, and Jeff Calder of the Swimming Pool Q’s. Her work is also collected by Kit West and John Baker, the special effects coordinators of film-maker George Lucas."
Whew, what a resume !!!

Sew Lucky Girl has an amazing collection of pillows, pin cushions, purses, and totes. All of which are made by Lisa King in her Atlanta, Georgia studio with the help of her trusty vintage Elnita sewing machine. Besides making amazing stuff for all of us, Lisa believes in giving back, and has pledged 20% of the proceeds every time she sells a "Big Bad Cat" or a "Bad Kitty/Good Kitty" pillow to P.A.W.S. Atlanta. She also gives some of the proceeds from the poly-fill pillow stuffing she uses to support Breast Cancer initiatives. What a great gal! But that's not all, besides being a fine artist and making too cool pillows, she is also part of a band called The Hot Place who are working on releasing an album this year. {review & giveaway} Flower Tile Coasters from Whimsical Wares CLOSED

I must say that I am a huge tea drinker. There always seems to be a a cup full of hot steamy herbal tea at my desk or on the coffee table. This indulgence however has taken its toll on my poor wooden coffee table, unitl now that is. Drum roll please.

: Introducing :

Melanie from Whimsical Wares was kind enough to send me one of her wonderful Flower Tile Coasters. These coasters are quite substantial, measuring half an inch thick and four by four inches around. An uplifting flower print is stamped on their smoothed top surface, which is a breeze to wipe clean. I was so happy to find the coasters are mounted on four tiny cork 'supports', making them completely scratch free.
I made myself a cup of tea the evening I received this lovely coaster, and was very impressed with the quality and workmanship that went into its production. All four corners and sides were sanded smooth and the design beautifully stamped. My table remained cool and free of any moisture, the coaster even absorbed some water that had found its way onto the bottom of my cup. I love my Flower Tile Coaster and would highly recommened Whimsical Wares to anyone looking to spruce up their entertainment area. Whimsical Wares also offers hand etched glass Mugs, Pint Glasses, Tumblers, and Wine glasses. As well as an amazing selection of her adorable coaster sets. These are perfect for gift giving or as a reward for yourself !
